Mercado Global’s Upcycled Denim collection was consciously created with the planet in mind. This collection utilizes high quality deadstock denim donated by Levi Strauss & Co, paired together with classic Mercado Global handwoven fabrics.
The success of our work – and the impact it has on the women we serve - continuously encourages us to expand our reach. In that respect, 2023 was a banner year. Not only were we able to graduate over 400 women from our intensive technical training courses in Guatemala, but we also expanded our work to a region outside the country - Honduras - for the first time in our history.

Artisans enhance their leadership and business skills through training conducted in local Indigenous languages.
Indigenous artisans highly skilled in ancient Mayan weaving techniques face very limited sales opportunities. We connect women to international sales opportunities with major retailers and provide technical training for women to improve their weaving and sewing skills.
We provide women with the tools they need, like sewing machines and back looms, to not only work on orders for international retailers with Mercado Global, but also to start their own local businesses.
